Leadership Update – North Vancouver RCMP Detachment
2021-06-07 10:15 PDT
The North Vancouver RCMP detachment is undergoing a leadership transition.
Please join us in congratulating Chief Superintendent Ghalib Bhayani on his promotion from Superintendent and Officer in Charge of the North Vancouver RCMP Detachment to the rank of Chief Superintendent for the Lower Mainland District. He now serves as the Assistant District Commander and Operations Officer.
The Assistant District Commander has operational oversight of 28 communities and 14 Detachments spanning from Pemberton to Boston Bar, from the US Border to the Sunshine Coast, and includes everything in between.
I would like to thank the North Vancouver community for your support, letters of encouragement, personal interactions, and really for helping me as I developed myself as your public safety champion, said Chief Superintendent Bhayani.
This has been an exceptional community to work with and for.
During his time in North Vancouver, Chief Superintendent Bhayani has been a champion for the North Vancouver community; he took great pride in developing and executing our detachment’s 2019-2023 Strategic Plan and launching initiatives like the IDEA Committee for equity and diversity, Project OPTIC, Fraud Aware, and Power5.
Inspector Andy LeClair will serve as acting Officer in Charge until a selection board is held by the City and District of North Vancouver to choose a new Detachment Commander. Inspector LeClair and the Detachment as a whole remains dedicated to public safety, and the community’s health, diversity, equity and inclusion.
