Fatal shooting in North Vancouver

On September 30, 2020, just before 10:45 p.m. North Vancouver RCMP received a report of multiple shots fired in the 200-block of East 17th Street in a back lane.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite all efforts to revive the victim, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A second victim was transported to hospital for treatment.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in, and they are now conducting the investigation in partnership with the North Vancouver RCMP.

Based on the investigative theory in this initial phase, this incident does not appear to be a random act.
