File # 21-34961 and 21-26688

A heavy police presence in the 1300 block of Columbia Street has currently been downgraded
following the capture of a man wanted in connection to a robbery that occurred on August 3, 2021.

Around 9:00 a.m. on October 4, a Kamloops RCMP frontline officer observed a man enter a local
motel who was known to have an unendorsed warrant for his arrest. Numerous police officers and
the Police Service Dog Unit attended the area and set up a perimeter in hopes of locating this male.

Shortly after 11:30 a.m. 25 year-old Tristan Fernandez was taken into custody by frontline officers
with the assistance of a police service dog. Fernandez was wanted on the recently issued warrant
following an investigation into a robbery on August 3, 2021 near the 1300 block of Battle Street.

Fernandez is being held in custody awaiting court.

As police are still on scene investigating no further information will be released.

The Kamloops RCMP would like to thank the public for their cooperation in keeping clear of the area
to allow frontline members to conduct their investigation.
