Man held in custody for theft

A Kamloops man faces one count of theft after being arrested downtown Saturday night.

On Aug. 7, 2021, just before 7 p.m., the Kamloops RCMP Detachment received a theft report from a commercial location on the 1100-block of Columbia Street West. The suspect was well-known to police and multiple units attended in response. He was located by police on 6th Avenue and Victoria Street, arrested, and held to appear before the courts.

Dustin Joel Poudrier, 34, of Kamloops, is charged with one count of theft under $5,000. He was remanded in custody with a court appearance scheduled for today, Tuesday Aug. 10, 2021.
