The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 454 calls for service from midnight Friday July 23, to 9 a.m. on Monday July 26, 2021. Below are some highlights from those calls.
Man injured in Saturday collision
A man was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision on the North Shore Saturday morning.
On July 24, 2021, around 8:38 a.m., Kamloops RCMP received a report of a head-on collision at Tranquille and Ord roads. According to the investigation, a Nissan was travelling southeast on Tranquille Road when it collided with a pickup truck travelling northwest.
The driver of the Nissan was taken to hospital with unknown injuries. The pickup truck driver received what was reported as minor injuries, and was checked by ambulance on scene.

Man arrested following gun report at hotel
A firearm was seized and a man arrested, following a gun report at an Aberdeen hotel.
On Saturday July 24, around 3:20 p.m., Kamloops RCMP received a report of a man sleeping with a long gun beside him at a hotel on the 1200-block of Rogers Way. Police attended and evacuated the third floor of the hotel, then entered the room and safely retrieved the firearm.
A Merritt man was arrested for firearms offences and released with a court date, pending the investigation’s conclusion.
Woman arrested following assault, impaired driving report
A report that started as an impaired driver escalated into an alleged assault on Sunday night.
Around 8:20 p.m. on July 25, 2021, Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of an impaired driver who had left a residence on Robson Drive. Shortly after, police were advised the woman had allegedly returned and assaulted someone with a bottle.
Frontline officers located the woman, arrested her in relation to the assault, and administered a roadside breath test, which provided a reading of ‘Fail’, indicating a blood-alcohol content exceeding .08.
The woman received a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impound under the Motor Vehicle Act, and a court date related to the assault investigation, pending the results of its conclusion.
Alcohol involved in North Shore crash
A man received a driving prohibition and vehicle impound, as well as a ticket for driving without due care, following a collision on Sunday night.
On July 25, 2021, around 7 p.m., Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of a truck that crashed into a traffic light post at Ord Road and 8th Avenue. Another vehicle also sustained damage during the collision. The driver was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
As part of their investigation, police administered a roadside breath test which registered a ‘Fail’ reading, indicating a blood-alcohol content exceeding .08.
A Kamloops man received a ticket for driving without due care consideration, as well as a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impound for impaired driving under the Motor Vehicle Act.
