Drugs and Guns seized in the Comox Valley

A 45-year old Comox Valley man is still in custody and facing multiple charges after drugs, firearms, and cash were seized on June 16, 2022.

The four-month investigation culminated with search warrants being executed on a residence, storage unit, and vehicles. Investigators located multiple firearms, suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine along with packaging, scales, and cash.

The Comox Valley RCMP is committed to targeting those responsible for the supply of fentanyl and other illicit drugs in our community. This seizure has disrupted the criminal activity here in the Comox Valley and undoubtedly saved lives, said Insp. Mike Kurvers, Officer in Charge, Comox Valley RCMP. Several specialized units at the detachment came together to make this happen; the Major Crime Unit, Street Crimes Unit, Frontline members, and Integrated Forensic Identification Services. he added.

In total, over 484 grams of suspected fentanyl, over 885 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and over 355 grams of suspected cocaine were seized. The firearms seized included three handguns and 12 long guns; several of which had been reported stolen.

The investigation into this matter is not over and will continue until police have gathered all the available evidence surrounding the possession and distribution of these guns and drugs.
