RCMP in 100 Mile House investigate suspicious death

On Friday, August 6th, 2021 100 Mile House RCMP members were called to a residence near Sheridan Lake for a sudden death of a 69-year-old male.
Front line members attended with the BC Coroners Service and the investigation revealed concerns around the death.
The BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit was contacted for assistance, and since taken conduct of the investigation.
At this stage in the investigation this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public, says 100 Mile House RCMP Detachment Commander S/Sgt Svend Nielsen
Members of the 100 Mile House Detachment will remain at the rural scene for the next few days as the investigation progresses.
The BC Coroners Service is also conducting a concurrent fact-finding investigation into this unexpected death. Due to the privacy of the deceased, under the Coroners Act, the deceased’s name will not be released.
