Victim Services - Crisis Intervention Unit

The North Vancouver RCMP Crisis Intervention Unit provides support to victims and witnesses of crime and other significant traumatic events.

The Crisis Intervention Unit is comprised of a supervisor, full-time staff and auxiliary staff. They offer practical assistance, emotional support, referrals and court orientation and accompaniment. They also provide information on the Victims of Crime Act, where legislation defines a victims rights, and the Crime Victim Assistance Program, when an individual may be eligible for benefits such as counselling or crime scene cleaning.

The Crisis Intervention Unit is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Upon police request, a Crisis Intervention Unit staff member will attend the scene of the incident, the detachment, the hospital or the victim’s home.
