Week in review April 22 to 28, 2024

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 192 calls between April 22 and 28, 2024. Below are just a few highlights of calls for service received:

April 23, 2024 – Terrace RCMP received a report of two individuals consuming alcohol, as well as a description of a vehicle that they were driving. RCMP located the vehicle and conducted an impaired investigation using an approved screening device. Breath samples obtained registered a fail and the driver was issued an immediate roadside driving prohibition and vehicle impound. The passenger accepted a courtesy ride home while the driver chose to depart the scene on foot. (2024-3264)

On the morning of April 24, 2024, police attended a report of a logging truck which had rolled over in the traffic circle at Lakelse Ave and Highway 16. No other vehicles were involved in the collision and no injuries were reported. The cause of the incident is being investigated by CVSE. (2024-3275)

Have you seen this truck? This Ford F250 was reported stolen from the Terrace airport long term parking lot between April 10 and April 24, 2024. The truck has a distinctive wood canopy and winch on the front. RCMP ask the public that if the truck is seen, not to approach but to call the local detachment at 250-638-7400. (2024-3292)

April 27, 2024 – A woman was denied boarding her flight by airline staff at the Terrace Airport due to intoxication. The woman ran past staff to board the plane anyway. RCMP were called to assist. Upon arrival, the woman had already exited the aircraft and moved back inside the airport but continued refusing to leave the airport and refused any other form of cooperation. The woman was arrested for cause of disturbance and was taken into custody, being lodged in Terrace cells until she was sober.
