Williams Lake RCMP continue their search for a robbery suspect late Friday afternoon.
On November 17, 2017 at 3:41 PM, the Williams Lake RCMP received a report of an armed robbery at the CIBC located at 220 Oliver Street in Williams Lake. Witnesses informed police that the suspect entered the bank, produced a note demanding money and motioned to concealing a gun on his hip. The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect, as seen in the attached photo captured by bank surveillance system, is described as:
- Caucasian male;
- 25-35 years old;
- 5’6 to 5’8;
- 160 to 180 pounds;
- Last seen wearing a red wig, a denim vest over a dark jacket, beige pants and black running shoes.
General Duty officers along with the assistance of the Crime Reduction Unit and General Investigations Section conducted extensive patrols throughout Williams Lake and canvassed many neighbouring businesses. The robbery remains under investigation by the General Investigations Section of the Williams Lake RCMP.
RCMP victim services have been offered to the bank employees who were un-injured during the incident.
