RCMP Investigating Early Morning Death

The RCMP and BC Coroner’s Service are investigating an early morning death in Williams Lake.

At 3:00 AM on October 7, 2017, the Williams Lake RCMP were advised of a shots fired complaint on 1st Avenue South, Williams Lake, BC. Officers attended the area and located the body of one deceased man.

Williams Lake General Duty, General Investigations Section, Crime Reduction Unit and Forensic Identification Section members were all called in to assist throughout the investigation.
The Williams Lake RCMP believe this to be an isolated incident, and there appears to be no immediate danger to the general public. No further information will be released at this time as the investigation continues.

To respect the privacy of the family, the identity of the male will not be released until the next of kin notification is complete.

The RCMP are asking anyone with information or anyone in the area of 1st Avenue South between 2:30 AM and 3:15 AM on October 7, 2017, to contact the Williams Lake General Investigations Section at 250-392-6211 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
