Charges Laid in connection with Drug Trafficking Investigation

Williams Lake RCMP say that charges have now been laid in connection with an ongoing investigation that began in April of this year.

A search warrant was executed on a local business this past April after an extensive investigation that involved police officers from Williams Lake GIS, CRU, GD as well as members from North District FSOC.

Mark Louis COWAN, 35 years old, has been charged with:

1) Trafficking a Controlled substance contrary to section 5(1) of the CDSA
2) Possession for the purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA

Christopher HOYLAND, 49 years old, has been charged with:

1) Possession for the purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA

Both men are scheduled to make their next court appearance in Williams Lake Provincial Court on Wednesday October 11th 2017 at 9:00 AM.

"Williams Lake RCMP continue to target drug trafficking offences" said Inspector Jeff Pelley, OIC Williams Lake Detachment. "We take this very seriously and are committed to seeking evidence to support charges and hold people accountable who actively participate in these types of offences."
