Shots fired in Newton

Surrey RCMP is currently on scene in the area of 122nd Street and 78th Avenue for a report of shots fired. On July 23rd, 2017 at approximately 9:05pm, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots being fired in the 12200 block of 78th Avenue. Officers attended and located evidence to support that shots had been fired in the area. No victims were located nor was any evidence found that any vehicle or residences in the area had been struck. The initial investigation indicates that two vehicles were seen fleeing from the area, a black SUV and a silver Acura. Officers will be conducting neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information. The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this is a targeted incident and involves parties known to each other.
