North Shore Resident Dies in Vehicle Accident

A 54 year-old female driver has died as the result of a single vehicle accident in North Vancouver. The incident occurred in the 1100 - block of Dempsey Road at approximately 7:30 am on December 19, 2017.

The North Vancouver resident was alone in her vehicle. She was driving eastbound on Dempsey Road and went off road right and descended over 30 feet down an embankment. The vehicle sustained significant damage. The driver was taken by emergency services to the local hospital where unfortunately she succumbed to her injuries and passed away.

This is a tragic accident, especially given the time of the year, said Cpl. Richard De Jong. The cause of the accident still remains unknown.

The Integrated Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called out to further investigate the incident.
