Police Seek Break & Enter Suspect

On December 11th, 2017 at around 6:00 pm, the North Vancouver RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at an apartment complex in the area of 3rd St. and St. Andrews Ave. in North Vancouver. The suspect, who was masked, had entered the ground floor apartment through an unlocked patio door and was discovered by the single, female resident inside the apartment.
The woman, alarmed by the intruder, screamed for help and was heard by nearby neighbours. The suspect briefly confronted the woman to which she responded by pulling the mask from his face. The suspect then fled the residence without causing injury to the woman or having taken anything from the property.
The suspect is described as:
- possibly Filipino;
- approximately 30 - 35 years old;
- medium build;
- approximately 5'5" tall, (165cm) and
- wearing dark pants, a blue windbreaker type jacket and a black ski mask.
The North Vancouver RCMP General Duty and Serious Crime Sections are continuing to investigate this occurrence.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect, said Cpl. Richard De Jong of the North Vancouver RCMP.
Considering the time at which this crime occurred, we are optimistic that a member of the public may have seen something that will be of help in our investigation.
Police encourage all residents to practise good home security by ensuring their doors and windows are locked when they leave their place of residence. In addition residents are encouraged to go to BC.RCMP to learn more about home and personal security.
