Man charged in residential break and enter

A Kamloops man is scheduled for court today after he was arrested by Kamloops RCMP frontline officers for breaking and entering on Sunday morning.

On Feb. 11, 2024, around 6:10 a.m., the Kamloops RCMP Detachment received a report involving a man who had allegedly entered a residence without permission on the 400-block of Linden Avenue. A suspect description was provided to police, and with the assistance of the Police Dog Service Unit, officers were led to the area of Leigh and Tranquille roads.

From there, frontline officers conducted proactive patrols and quickly located and apprehended a suspect, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. He was held in custody for court.

Nicholas Marcel Benallick, 41, of Kamloops, is charged with one count of break and enter with intent. He is scheduled for a bail hearing sometime today, Feb. 12, 2024.
