Three of four lanes on Lougheed Highway has now been reopened after a truck collided with a section of the CP Rail overpass just south of Barnet Highway. The southbound fast lane remains closed at this time.

The collision happened just before 2:00 p.m. on August 18, 2017. The CP overpass was visibly damaged in the collision so it was immediately closed for a safety assessment.

The Coquitlam RCMP worked with CP Rail Police, CP Engineers, Coquitlam Fire and Rescue, and Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement to resolve the situation as safely and quickly as possible.

There were no other vehicles involved in the collision and the driver’s injuries are being assessed. Coquitlam RCMP is investigating to determine whether charges are appropriate or whether a medical condition or other factors caused the collision.
