Burnaby RCMP investigate shots fired over the weekend

Burnaby RCMP is currently on scene at Byrne Creek Secondary School after a member of school staff reported they had found bullet holes in the front entrance of the school this morning. Officers on scene have confirmed that shots were fired in the area just after midnight on Sunday, October 1 and not when school was in session.

Out of caution, school staff made the decision to evacuate the school this morning.

RCMP members will be on scene throughout the day as the investigation continues and there is no public safety concern at this time.
