After graduating from depot in 1996, Inspector Rachel Meredith Milne’s first post was in rural Lumsden, Saskatchewan. Looking back on this, Insp. Meredith Milne who grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario remembers her first call as an RCMP officer. It was an accident involving a Combine, I still remember the look on my field trainer's face when I asked him what a Combine was!

After four years in Saskatchewan, Insp. Meredith Milne transferred to Coquitlam and has spent the past 17 years in the Lower Mainland. During this time, Insp. Meredith Milne was attached to the Lower Mainland Integrated Tactical Troop for eight years. As a member of this troop, Insp. Meredith Milne worked on national security investigations, homicide investigations, protective services for VIP visits, the 2010 Winter Olympics, the Stanley Cup riot and many other public order events, including the Burnaby Mountain Kinder Morgan protests.

Insp. Meredith Milne has been on the front line of uniform policing for 21 of her 22 years in service and has risen through the ranks to become the Assistant Operations Officer for the Burnaby RCMP. Speaking about working on the front line Insp. Meredith Milne says; I have absolutely loved my career in policing, especially as a first responder. You really are a jack of all trades as a first responder, that's where it all begins.

Insp. Meredith Milne is getting settled into her new role at the Burnaby RCMP; I feel very lucky to have been Commissioned to Burnaby, I couldn't be more pleased with my new role and with the incredible work I've seen being done every day by all of our incredibly hard working employees.

Away from policing, Insp. Meredith Milne has a 19-year-old daughter in college and her husband is a firefighter in one of our neighbouring municipalities. In her down time Insp. Meredith Milne enjoys travel, camping and working on her golf game.
