Burnaby RCMP is inviting members of the public to an upcoming car and booster seat safety clinic happening by appointment on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

For a child’s car seat or booster seat to be effective it must be installed and used correctly, but parents and caregivers often remark that they can be complicated and intimidating to set up and adjust.

Attendees of the upcoming safety event are asked to come to their appointment with their car or booster seat set up as usual.

Several Certified Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Educators, including Burnaby RCMP officers and BCAA staff, will be at the event to work one-on-one with attendees to inspect their current set up and assist with adjustments and education.

We continue to receive positive feedback about how helpful and empowering these appointments can be for families and caregivers, said Cst. Kevin Connolly with Burnaby RCMP Traffic Services

The goal of the appointment is to make sure car and booster seats are properly installed and adjusted for maximum safety, while also educating attendees so they are comfortable making their own adjustments in the future and as their child grows.

Attendees are asked to pre-book appointments online. Appointments are approximately one hour long.
