It is National Volunteer week from April 14-20, 2024 and the BC RCMP wants to honour and show gratitude to the many individuals who work with our detachments and support our communities.

Time is a precious and fleeting commodity which is why the BC RCMP wants to specifically acknowledge this year’s Every Moment Matters theme. When people generously offer their time to support others, they not only contribute to public safety efforts but also play a crucial role in delivering diverse community policing services. This collective effort fosters unity among community members, bringing everyone together.

National Volunteer Week allows the BC RCMP to celebrate everyone who has volunteered in their communities over the past year, Staff Sergeant Jagmeet Dandiwal, Acting Officer in Charge of BC RCMP Community Policing Services. Please join us in celebrating this designated week so together we can acknowledge these volunteers in our local areas by thanking them to express our appreciation.

There are many programs that offer volunteer opportunities such as victim services, community policing, crime prevention, restorative justice, Block Watch and many more, including the recently revived Auxiliary program.

All our dedicated volunteers are integral in connecting people together and creating stronger communities. Anyone interested in joining our volunteer family can reach out to your local detachment to inquire what programs are available near you.
