Remembering Fred

2017-11-20 10:53 PST

Recently, French Creek resident, Jean Sproule had a home security assessment completed on her home. The program, Secure-Us, pioneered by Auxiliary Constable Mike Dally is free of charge and highlights areas of concern, or in need of security improvement.

While in the home, Dally noticed a framed shadow box housing a plethora of Royal Canadian Air Force medals, honours and merit. Dally asked Sproule about the medals and she humbly described her late husband, Fred Sproule and his highly decorated career as a fighter pilot.

As a show of appreciation, in advance of Remembrance Day, Cpl. Foreman and Dally dressed in Ceremonial RCMP uniform and brought flowers to Joan Sproule in recognition and remembrance to Fred, who recently passed.

It was amazing to see Jean light up and get extremely excited for her visit. She was truly grateful and insisted on calling her daughter to brag about the visit. It was a wonderful and fulfilling moment! – states Cpl. Foreman
