Block Watch is a proactive crime reduction program between local residents and the Coquitlam RCMP. Block Watch members create stronger and safer communities by keeping an eye on each other’s homes and reporting suspicious activity to each other and to the police.

"Block watchers" can be owners or renters and can live in any type of home from a single-family dwelling to a high-rise apartment. According to Block Watch members, the best reasons to be part of the program include:

Volunteering with Block Watch is perfect for those who want to be actively involved in public safety but have limited time. Participants commit to becoming more connected to their neighbourhood and sharing information with their Block Watch group and the Coquitlam RCMP.

With almost 7,000 participants the Coquitlam RCMP Block Watch program is a great asset to police and an important part of our efforts to create safe, secure neighbourhoods with the help of informed, involved citizens.
